Cottage cheese has quietly become the easiest high-protein food to keep on hand — and on a GLP-1, that matters. This bowl gives you 24 grams of protein in about three minutes, no cooking, and it works sweet or savory depending on your mood.

Why this works on a GLP-1

Cottage cheese is unusually protein-dense for its volume, which is exactly what you want when your appetite is small — a lot of protein in a few soft spoonfuls. It’s gentle on the stomach, requires zero effort, and helps you chip away at your daily protein target even on days you can’t face a full meal.

Make it your own

  • Blend it: puréed cottage cheese becomes a smooth base for fruit (sweet) or a veggie dip (savory).
  • More ideas: see our roundup of high-protein snacks for a small appetite.
  • Batch the savory version as a light lunch alongside the rest of your day’s protein.

Two minutes, twenty-plus grams of protein, and it fits whatever you’re craving — this is the snack to keep in rotation.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup (170g) low-fat cottage cheese
  • — SWEET version —
  • 1/3 cup berries or diced fruit
  • 1 tbsp chopped nuts or a sprinkle of granola
  • Drizzle of honey; pinch of cinnamon
  • — SAVORY version —
  • 1/2 cup cucumber and cherry tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tsp olive oil; everything-bagel seasoning
  • Cracked pepper; fresh herbs if you have them

Instructions

  1. 1

Spoon the cottage cheese into a bowl.

  2. 2

For sweet: top with fruit, nuts, a drizzle of honey, and cinnamon.

  3. 3

For savory: top with cucumber and tomato, drizzle olive oil, and sprinkle everything seasoning and pepper.

  4. 4

Eat right away — no cooking, no cleanup.

Tips

  • Texture bothering you? Blend the cottage cheese smooth first — it turns creamy, almost like a dip or mousse.
  • Small appetite? This is protein-dense for its size, so even a half portion is a solid protein hit.
  • Want more protein? Cottage cheese already brings ~20g on its own; a spoon of hemp seeds adds a few more.
